The first time I saw Shari cosplayed ,I was so amazed by her version of the "Scarecrow" from the movie "Wizard of Oz". She looks so wonderful on her costume. For me, she really stands out among other cosplayers on the event.
Shari Alexa Paclipan also known as Shari was born on February 15, 1995. A Cebuana cosplayer who is currently studying at the University of the Philippines, taking up Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Product Design.
Shari started her cosplaying career on February 2012. She joined cosplay because she really enjoys dress up, especially character-based dress up. She always wanted to try cosplay even during High School, but the problem was she did not know anything about the community. She was completely clueless back then.
When she entered college, she met her friends who happened to be a cosplayer and she was immediately inspired to join cosplay. During her first event to cosplay, Otakufest V, she was completely amazed by all the cosplayers' costumes. She was having fun and also a new experience for her that she look forward to upcoming cosplay event.
Cospaly events that she have joined so far was Otakufest V and Otakufest VI which was held in the University of the Philippines and Cosmaze Carnival. The characters that she portrayed was Madhatter fom the movie "Alice in Wonderland", Scarecrow from "Wizard of Oz" and Corpse Bride.
Shari makes her own costumes. Fro the sewing stuff, she have it sewn by her neighbor. Making her own costumes gives her the freedom to manipulate and coordinate the whole outfit according to her own personal style and how she wants to interpret the character.
Shari's favorite character to cosplay so far, was the Corpse Bride because it was the least crammed costume. Her Madhatter costume will always have a special place in her heart. She dreamed to cosplay Red Queen.
